2012 Marchesi di Barolo, Sarmassa
For more than two centuries, wine has been produced at the town of Barolo, Italy. Sarmassa is an 'MGA' (Barolo's version of the Cru system in Burgundy France) making it a wine of high pedigree.
'The Sarmassa Cru made beautiful wines in 2012 and this very aromatic with rose petal and raspberry aromas. Very subtle aromatically. Full bodied, chewy and tannic, yet has a pretty dusty texture giving the wine a softness at the end with bright acidity.' (93 pts., James Suckling)
