2014 Rombauer, Chardonnay, Carneros
Founders Koerner and Joan Rombauer arrived in California in 1972 armed with an appreciation for food and wine. Their appreciation stemmed from Koerner's great great aunt Irma Rombauer having authored internationally renowned cookbook the "Joy of Cooking" and his ancestors originating from the wine growing region of Rheingau, Germany, where wine is considered an essential complement to a meal.
"This wine exhibits a medium straw, yellow colour with alluring ripe core fruit aromas of dried peach and ripe apples. It is medium bodied, creamy and solid on the palate with medium acidity. It has very good balance with a medium to long finish." (92 pts. Wine.com)
